How to install OnePlus 5T update
Step 1. First of all you need to download the OTA update of the full update file.
Step 2. Now you need to transfer the file you downloaded to the Oneplus 5t. If you downloaded the update in your phone the file should be in download folder.
Step 3. Now turn off your phone and put it into recovery mode.
To start your phone in recovery mode press and hold power button + volume up together until you see flash on your screen.
Use volume button to select recovery mode and then press power button to boot into recovery mode.
Step 4. Install the update.
You will see a option that says install update, press power button to selected now Navigate to where you have saved the file and select it, the recovery will install the update.
Step 6. Select ‘Reboot system now’ to restart your OnePlus 5T.
Use Local Upgrade option to Install Update
- Download the full update file.
- Open Phone Settings.
- Find System updates and tap on it.
- From right-top screen tap the setting icon.
- Choose “Local upgrade”, select the file.
Important: Make sure to copy the update zip in the root directory.

You can use TWRP for other custom recovery to install this update. Some users may get project treble compatibility error when they try flashing the update using TWRP, this solution to that will be used another customized TWRP recovery. So this is the first open beta for oneplus 5t that introduced us to Android Pie, the version is not certified.
