Advantages of Xiaomi Redmi 2
Advantage – install many apps. You can install many apps on your Redmi 2 and believe me; it won’t lag. I having 120+ apps inside it and smooth performance still.
Disadvantage Of Xiaomi Redmi 2
Number 1. Less Ram Available / MIUI 6
Update: You can flash MIUI 7 which is based on Android 5.1 and for Redmi 2 prime variants. But you can install that on your non-prime version too, Redmi 2 official miui7/8 lollipop update.
It’s MiUi 6; MIUI 7 and 8 that’s a heavy Android customized ROM, for sure it will eat more, when I got the phone The RAM always filled up to 600 MB.
FIX – If you ask me, it can run all Android apps smoothly, just you find there is ram clean occurs when you multi-task.
2. Notification problem
Update: MIUI 7 solve this as well.
It has no problem with notification, but if you fill up your phone with a large amount of app, they fill up ram, and due to this its system auto cleans up apps for more ram space, and due to this to might not be able to get WhatsApp or Facebook Messenger notification.
Fix – But in most case you will get a notification in time if the app is playing in the background.
3. Some performance issues and heating problems with Xiaomi phones.
It is powered by a Quad-core 1.2 GHz Cortex-A53 processor and a Qualcomm MSM8916 Snapdragon 410 chipset. But some user reported it’s performance and heat problem.
I faced such heat issue while browsing the internet in Google Chrome Browser, UC Browser.
+ watching videos on MX player and other media player will cause such heating issue.
4. Android OS is not the Latest.
Update: Redmi 2/Prime Official MIUI 7 is Android Lollipop.
It is based on Android 4.4 and the latest Android version of global Android is Lollipop 5, and Android M already released.
